Habang naatasan sa isang misyong, kaakibat ang isang responsibilidad ….

Isang nakatagong damdamin, ang kayang pakakawalan…

POST-EVENT EVALUATION REPORT
TITLE: REVERDE AKO. TUTULONG – 11.11.11 RMN NATIONWIDE TREE PLANTING

PART I. EVENT PREPARATION

ACTUAL DATES OF COORDINATION'S AND CONFIRMATION

Week of 6 October
Proposal letters were sent to possible supporters / participants as follows: local advertisers, sponsors and
volunteer organizations.

Campaign run:
- Spreading and sharing the news thru e-mail blasting / blogging and facebook invitations. Was able
to inform the public that we are still open for donations for more seedlings. The more seedlings
we have, the more we will be able to plant. SOCSARGEN folks can also help by getting friends and family to donate so we will
have more trees to plant to be able to reach our target and also open for sponsors for food support
to feed our tree planting volunteers

- Coordinated with the local DENR and City Environment and Natural Resources for the target location sites / beneficiaries of seeds.

Week of 31 October
Event coordination, follow-ups and meetings on program flow planning and assignments on tasking were
created as follows:
- Transportation Committee
- Food Committee (food and drinks preparation/ distribution)
- Print collaterals - Reverde Layout Tarpaulin Printing
- Reporters to cover the three (3)confirmed location sites
- Additional photographers to document the event
- Meetings / Coordination with private companies / advertisers, LGUs and NGOs

As required by the City Agriculturist, DENR and CENRO prior to tree-planting, organizers of the event must conduct a symposium about the project and to talk about the turning over of responsibilities of taking care of the trees to the barangay officials and beneficiaries. To be able to ensure maintenance and monitoring for survival of the trees planted for two (2) years.

Week of 2 November

- Collection and gathering of seedlings, product supports, sponsorships and donations

08 November
a. Finalization stage: Meeting at Barangay Hall, Brgy. Mabuhay. Present were officials from the
Mahintana Foundation, Inc., GenSan Water District, Barangay officials and DENR - City Environment
and Natural Resources.
b. Ocular Inspection at the tree planting location site in Nopol, Purok 7, Mabuhay together with the said
officers.

09 November
Gen. Santos City – CENRO conducted the Tree Growing Orientation at Barangay Mabuhay Gymnasium
led by Mr. Bernie Portes, Community Affairs Officer II, City Environment and Natural Resouces
Office.

Number of attendees = 180 pax (students, teachers, professors, PNP official and barangay officials)

In the tree planting / tree growing orientation, the things discussed were:
- Instructions, correct and proper way of planting the seedlings
- About floods; their cause and effects it has on the community
- What our project is and its objectives
- Methods on how to take care of the trees and the environment

EVALUATION:


Philippine National Police and PNP Regional Training School XII headed by Pol. Chief Supt. Benjardi Mantele, Pol. Supt. Rannie Hachuela, Major Joefel Siason; Armed Forces of the Philippines - Col. Glorioso Miranda and Col. Joselito E. Kakilala, students, teachers, parents, relatives, provincial/city/barangay officials and its representatives gave support and actively participated in the network’s nationwide tree planting we conducted aiming for a greener future for our next generation.

The tree planting site took place at three barangays namely: Nopol, Purok 7, Barangay Mabuhay, Gen. Santos City; Barangay Magsaysay, Polomolok, South Cotabato and Barangay Maligo, Polomolok, South Cotabato (as recommended by our City Agriculturist Office, CENRO-Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources and Mahintana Foundation Inc., these are the strategic venues for the event where huge areas in the barangays are currently laying bare and has a shortage of trees. Pollution could be lessened also thru the presence of trees/plants The project could help in filtering air from pollutants and we could prevent erosions, floods and other calamities by planting trees at the following sites.


RMN’s Reverde Ako. Tutulong Ako is very timely because Gen. Santos City Water District has just launched their Agro-Forestry Watershed Management and improvement projects. Gen. Santos City Water District with its company slogan “Your Access to Healthy Living” is the one providing on water services in the entire city. It manages and provides leadership in water resources infrastructure, strategic watershed assessment and planning and community watershed action. One of their goals is to help assist and implement on special projects of the community. That is why RMN DXMD GenSan collaborated with their department headed by Engr. Arn B. Gellangarin-General Manager, Engr. Rogelio A. Besana, Jr.–Department Manager and Mr. Mario Pelobello, Forestry and Watershed Reforestation Project Head. We were able to get the opportunities to work with the local NGOs and LGUs namely the City Environment and Natural Resources administered by Mr. Valiente Lastimoso, Deparment Head and his Community Affairs Officer II, Mr. Bernie Portes, our local DENR Mr. Ruel S. Divino, CENRO Director and Mr. Leonardo Azumbrado, Forester, Chief Forest Management; Mahintana Foundation, Inc.-Mr. Martiniano L. Magdolot, Executive Director and Mr. Rex Charlie C. Teves, Project Head Coordinator, Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI), City Councilor Ronnel C. Rivera, Department of Agriculture, City Agriculturist to support the riparian planting and ensure the survival and growth rate where the trees were planted as a support to the environmental needs.

In addition, there has been an agreement between RMN and GSC Water District. For maintenance, to take care and protect the seedlings planted at Nopol, Barangay Mabuhay, Gen. Santos City, as agreed, DXMD to provide the first quarter’s Php 5,000.00 worth of staple foods as payment to the B’laan folks and GSC Water District to continue to supply the remaining seven (7) quarterly payments amounting to Php 35,000.00 to cover the two (2) year-period of tree growing.
